Barista course upskills Kāpiti youth as centre opening approaches

In Kāpiti, our Barista Programme has partnered with a great local Roastery and coffee company – Dark Horse Coffee. We’ve recently wrapped up our first course for 2018, with 5 Ōtaki College students being upskilled and gaining work experience.

The next intake begins this week for Kāpiti College students – check our Programmes page for more info.

We’ve also just finished a week long Music Box activation in Ōtaki in first week of school holidays, with bands being developed over the week leading to a showcase event on the Friday night with over 50 family and friends attending.
Our partnership with the Māoriland Hub and Creative Communities Scheme saw the week become a great space for young musicians to jam and learn together with help from Devon Welch Music, and two local musicians Antz and Te Kawa.

And lastly, we’re on track for our June opening, with new backline equipment including amps and lighting that will make the space awesome.
