Zeal Education Trust (Zeal) is looking for a superstar National Manager who can lead the
overall operations of our national youth organisation and empower our staff to deliver on a
high impact work programme committed to the transformation of young people’s lives in
Aotearoa.

We are on the lookout for an amazing person to join our team who believes in young people
like we do. You will be responsible for providing operational leadership to our organisation,
supporting and empowering our wider leaders team to support our staff to deliver on a high
impact work programme that enables deep, transformative change in young people’s lives.
In all this, you will keep the care and experience of young people right across Aotearoa at
the heart, ensuring safe and genuine relationships are built between staff and young people
enabling mutual transformation. We have a genuine love for young people. And we expect

Key responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership to Zeal ensuring strong, incredible service delivery and culture.
- Provide Youth Development practice leadership to the organisation, ensuring Zeal operates in a way that honours Te Tiriti O Waitangi and in line with best practice youth development
- Champion Zeal’s Health and Safety activities by actively ensuring safe and healthy activities are implemented, demonstrated and supported throughout the organization.
- Educate and involve staff in policy and process development and implementation.
- Manage Zeal’s wider leadership team including centre and major project managers keeping managers accountable to key responsibilities and supporting and coaching them with important staff matters that arise.
- Foster a strong, healthy working environment and culture for Zeal staff to work within.
- Lead the ongoing development, review and updating of policies and processes.
- Work within the Senior Leadership team to develop a strategic plan that has clear goals and objectives to maintain, grow and promote the vision, mission and values of Zeal.
- Ensure all Zeal staff share the organisational vision and values and have clarity in their roles.
Skills and experience
- You know your stuff. You’ve got a relevant tertiary qualification or 4+ years experience in organisation leadership, management, youth/community development or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You project manage like a boss, self-motivate and take initiative at every step.
- You’re hungry. When you wake in the morning your stomach rumbles, waiting to be filled with epic social change.
- You excel at communication, particularly written and interpersonal.
- You think outside the box to produce fresh ideas and concepts.
- Young people and creativity are deeply important to you
- You tick the boxes on our values

Because of your role, you will need to be located at either our Wellington or West Auckland location
