Zeal Wellington is looking for a manager who can lead the Zeal Wellington team as they work to achieve Zeal’s vision, mission and values and provide a central place of belonging for all Wellington young people.

You will be responsible for oversight and management of Zeal Wellington people, partnerships, facility management, events, programmes, youth development, finance and funding, marketing and communications, policies and procedures and evaluation, reporting & business systems.
In all this, you will keep the care and experience of Wellington young people at the heart, building genuine relationships that affect and change you personally. We love our young people. And we expect you to also.

Key responsibilities
- Develop! You will develop Zeal's presence in Wellington pursuing the fulfillment of Zeal's vision, mission and values in Wellington.
- Care! You will set an example as a compassionate, creative alongsider who cares deeply for young people.
- Maintain! You will oversee the management and maintenance of the facility ensuring the space is adequate for the delivery of programmes.
- Market! You will ensure that Zeal has strong brand awareness in Wellington with young people and the community.
- Policy! You will meet all health & safety and policy requirements.
- Manage! You will manage all staff and volunteers, ensuring everyone is adequately trained and supported.
- Oversee! You will oversee all youth development programmes including the drop-in space, events, street youth work, work readiness programmes, rainbow group, suicide prevention programmes and creative programmes ensuring high quality and best practice programmes are delivered.
- Partner! You will maintain strong and positive relationships with current partners and identify new potential partners.
- Finance! You will keep to an annual budget and oversee all financial management.
- Evaluate! You will accurately evaluate and reports on all activities and outcomes, deriving learnings to improve.
Skills and experience
- You know your stuff. You've got a relevant tertiary qualification and three years' experience in youth or community development, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You have extensive experience working with disconnected young people and managing complex youth work situations.
- You are proactive and highly self-motivated, taking initiative at every step.
- You have a demonstrated ability to mentor and coach others.
- You're an experienced networker and skilled in managing stakeholder relationships.
- You've got experience and ability in managing and keeping to budgets.
- You identify with our Christian motivation and ethic, and our commitment to a journey of biculturalism and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- You're looking to dive into a mission-oriented, all-encompassing dream.
- You tick the boxes on our people values (seriously, read them, they're very important to us).
- Oh, and you've got a current clean drivers license.
