Zeal West Auckland is looking for a local leader who can lead the Zeal West team to achieve Zeal’s vision, mission and values and provide a central place of connection and belonging for all West Auckland young people.

Key responsibilities
- Manage staff: Team leadership, supervision, accountability, culture setting
- Partnerships: Establish, maintain and identify new strong and positive relationships with local partners and networks. including Council, local trusts, Police, and other community youth providers
- Facility Management: Oversee the management, maintenance and hiring of the Zeal West facility in a professional manner ensuring that people’s safety and Health and Safety legislation is observed at all times.
- Programmes: oversee delivery of safe, supportive youth development programmes that meet needs and aspirations of young people while also meeting funder requirements.
- Youth Development & Street Youth Work: Oversee all youth development practice, ensuring best practice is delivered by staff, interns and volunteers.
- Finance & funding: manage overall finances of centre with support from Zeal Finance Manager including preparing annual budget and managing expenses.
- Zeal National: contribute to wider Zeal National leadership team, contributing to overall mission, vision and values of Zeal
- Marketing & Communications: In conjunction with the Communications Manager, promote Zeal West’s activities through Zeal’s main communication channels ie. Website, social media and email newsletters and ensure that Zeal is profiled positively in local community groups and spaces including schools and other youth facilities.
- Policies & Procedures: ensure Zeal policies and procedures are adhered to, current and adopted by staff including Health and Safety
- Evaluation, Reporting & Business Systems: Ensure business systems are maintained to a high standard.
Skills and experience
- You know your stuff. You've got a relevant tertiary qualification and 3-5 years' experience in youth or community development, managing a team or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- You've got experience and ability in managing and keeping to budgets.
- You value our Christian whakapapa and are ready to join us on our journey of bi-culturalism and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- You're looking to dive into a mission-oriented, all-encompassing dream.

- And finally you've got a current clean driver's license.
