If you’re a young person living in Hams and are keen as to explore your creativity, gain new skills, and meet rad humans that are into the same things, we have heaps of amazing programmes starting up at Zeal Hams. All Programmes are running in Term 2 – except for Event Management, which starts the week of 12 March – and is FREE!

Each Programme runs for 1.5-2 hours after school between 4-6. The day of the week is up to you – we’ll do our best to work with your schedule. With an experienced, industry professional as your tutor, you’ll be learning alongside a maximum of 6 other young people, meaning that you’ll have heaps of room to ask questions and learn one on one.
Event Management
- Duration: 5 weeks
- Cost: FREE
- Currently enrolling for term one (Week of 12 March)
- Work towards tackling the management of a public event at Zeal
Keen on running events but unsure of how to get started? In this Programme you’ll learn everything you need to know about the behind the scenes of a successful event: promotion, marketing, organizing, production, budgeting and more.
Photography
- Duration: 7 weeks
- Cost: $10/week
- Currently enrolling for term two (Week of 1 May)
- Work towards a public exhibition at a gallery.
Keen to up your photo game? Want to get creative with your camera? Covering a wide range of styles such as portrait, landscape & street photography, you’ll learn everything you need to start getting those #instaworthy shots on the daily – with access to DSLRs and Adobe Lightroom.
Barista
- Duration: 5 weeks
- Cost: $10/week
- Currently enrolling for term two (Week of 21 May)
- Work towards a social café event at Zeal.
If you are looking to get into the growing and passionate coffee culture in Hams, want to learn how to make a perfect flat white, or have ever wondered how epic latte art is made, this Programme is where you want to be. You’ll develop the skills and techniques needed to make a beautiful espresso coffee and thrive in the hospo industry.
Live Sound Engineering
- Duration: 7 weeks
- Cost: $10/week
- Currently enrolling for term two (Week of 8 May)
- Work towards running the stage at a public event at Zeal
If you have a passion for live music, then get behind Zeal’s sound desk and learn what it takes to enhance the live sound experience – aka make everything sound good. There are heaps of events happening here at Zeal that will give you epic opportunities to display your new skills in an exciting, live setting.
