Kāpiti youth centre to begin build in January as year ends on a high note

November proved to be one of the busiest months in 2017 for the Zeal Kāpiti team, with more great local events and community partnerships closing out the year.

The crew packed in to the van and delivered 1,000 yellow pages to Kāpiti residents with the Waikanae Lions Club, spending two sweaty afternoons with some of our volunteer team.

At the annual Kāpiti Fesitval (Strawberry Festival fundraising for Mary Potter Hospice), Zeal ran the main stage for the day, with students from our Programmes running the sound mixer and making coffee.

Thanks to the amazing folk at Waikanae Lions Club, we were chosen to be a recipient charity of their 2017 Garden Trail fundraiser. Young Zeal musicians provided entertainment, our Barista students provided coffee, and the Lions provided a rare glimpse in to some of the meanest private gardens in the area.

And for the last big news of the year, construction of our new Zeal youth center is kicking off in mid-January. Thanks so much to everyone who has supported us in 2017!
