On Thursday 19th September, Zeal West’s Gateway students put on a Photography Exhibition event to celebrate the beautiful mahi of our 8 Term 3 Photography students.
Over 50 family, friends, ex-Gateway students, and members of the public came through to check out the interactive photography trail set up in the auditorium. The pieces were displayed hung from the ceiling so that guests could walk through and view the photographs.
A highlight of the night was opening the doors to the exhibition and hearing the hustle and bustle of the students showing their friends and whānau their photos. Watching everyone walk through the pathways of photos was so cool, and made for an exciting way to display the work.
The night was a success for our three Gateway classes, who all came together to put on the event. Our Event Management class did an awesome job of planning, setting up, and facilitating the event alongside the Sound and Tech class who set up the sound and lighting for the event, and supported live acts on the night. Our students were able to take a step back on the night and proudly reflect on 10 weeks of hard work.
Some of the works are now hanging in the windows of Zeal West, and will be on display at the Glen Eden library from the beginning of November.
