Kaitiaki Community Cares

Three of Zeal Taranaki Alternative Education students, Te Reinga Rangiwai, Caesar Davis and Kanye Taipari started KAItiaki Compost, a business where they collect food waste from businesses and turn it into compost. Now they welcome Kaitiaki Community Cares, where the spirit of compassion and community thrives.  Our dedicated team of remarkable young people are eager to lend a helping hand, by offering free services such as lawn maintenance, hedge trimming, yard cleaning, and general section upkeep.

What we offer

Lawns, hedges, section maintenance, weeds, clean/clear yards.

Cost

There is no cost for customers and is completely free of charge. However koha is welcome but not necessary

Locations, days and time

We offer service to New Plymouth & Stratford. From Tuesday – Thursday 9 am – 3 pm (excluding any public holidays)

Paid work experience

With the backing of TOI Foundation, the Stratford District Council TaskForce For Jobs, and Bishops Action Foundation, this has meant young people have paid work experience through Kaitiaki Community Cares.
