Activities for rangatahi (young people) in Wellington at Zeal
You’ll find Zeal Wellington in the James Smith Building on Cuba Street. We run after-school hangs, creative programmes, all-ages gigs, a rainbow group, guys’ group and our social enterprise cafe, Stories Espresso Bar.
Hangs
On Tuesday – Friday, 3-5pm, we run free afternoon hangs for young people. We provide a chilled out, safe environment with Xbox, food and Wi-Fi, and our youth workers are trained to provide additional care if needed.
Zeal Nights
On Friday from 6.30 – 10:30pm, our centre is open just like at Hangs. Our Street Youth Workers also get out and about in the city to support and connect with young people.
Stories Espresso Bar
Located at the bottom of Cuba Street, we welcome you to enjoy a high-quality coffee while you kick back in our cafe or to takeaway. Here we teach young people barista skills and provide first-time work experience to help them into future employment and studies. Learn more
