Big Buzz at open mic night in Lower Hutt

Zeal Wellington took over Buzz Cafe in Lower Hutt for an Open Mic night – an awesome space, beautiful vibes, great food and coffee.
The event saw a lot of young people from the Hutt coming through to celebrate youth talent. For a few young people, it was their first time performing to a live audience. Open Mic nights are such great opportunities for youth to practice, grow, and have a go at performing in a safe environment.
The event was dreamed, planned and executed by a group of young people from the Hutt Valley, handling all the event planning and production for the event.
We saw heaps of spontaneous jams and performers jumping in on each others songs. Tinomda (pictured in the first photo) did some stand up comedy and poems, and Zion + Tyler sang with no backing track, incredibly beautiful voices.
A few young women sang an original and it was very well put together. The event was fueled by Buzz Cafe generously giving away free Scones to everyone!
