Zeal staff re-energize, do some bombs, at recent Hui

The entire Zeal crew – from Welly right up to the mighty West Aucks and everyone in between – hit the Hawke’s Bay this January to rest, reflect and recharge for the exciting year we have planned ahead.

Zeal staff from all over New Zealand meet up twice a year for a three-day camp to discuss youth work, event management, creative courses and anything else we are working on.

“Hui is everyone’s favourite time of year to get together as a whanau, dream, tell stories and get inspired about the upcoming year,” explains Beth, the star of our Your Beth Friend YouTube channel.

“To me, it’s a lot like catching up with your extended family – you feel like you’re surrounded by so much love and you are guaranteed some wild antics.”

With the launch of Kāpiti’s new Music Box, the MATES initiative taking off in Hamilton and Wellington’s search for a new venue, Zeal has a busy year ahead.

Matt Grey, Zeal’s General Manager, says “the reason we have Hui is to facilitate a culture of family and to help people grasp or reclaim the vision and DNA of Zeal.”

By connecting with other staff and sharing stories about their triumphs and losses of 2016, we are able to re-energize and be inspired for 2017!
